Wayang nowadays are less and less popular among the young generation of Indonesia. Characters of wayang are less popular than foreign heroes. This brings concerns about their existence.Tjokrosuharto as one store, which supplies many kinds of goods for traditional ceremonies and crafts, participates in trying to preserve wayang and provide leather wayang and costumes for human wayang theaters. Wayang actually has many forms such as human wayang, in which humans perform the characters. Leather wayang, wayang golek, wayang menak, and wayang beber on the other hand are puppets played by a dalang (puppet master). These wayangs are made out of materials like leather and wood. The lakon (chapters) played are usually taken from epics of Ramayana and Mahabarata that are improvised to match current situation. Actually, characters in the stories of wayang are very interesting with many kinds of characters, which are noble and contain deep philosophical meaning.
