Our ancestors in the past have done many kinds of traditional ceremonies since in mother’s womb, birth, adulthood, marriage, until death. The series of Javanese traditional ceremonies are the heritage in which our ancestors pass to us. We should preserve these traditions as cultural events that characterize us as a region and nation in general. Unfortunately, with the development of the ages, traditional ceremonies are abandoned by younger generations to search for an easier practice. This fact is very concerning towards the preservation of our tradition. Tjokrosuharto as a store that sells various attributes of traditional ceremonies and crafts tries to preserve Javanese tradition by supplying various products for traditional ceremonies ranging from equipment to traditional dresses. We also provide information to our customers about series of Javanese traditional ceremonies such as Tingkepan Ceremony (mitoni-marking of 7th pregnancy month), Tedak Siten, Marriage ceremonies, and etcetera. For this reason, we gather various sources and literature related with Javanese traditional ceremonies. Hair is done with a pin in the middle and heron feathers called lancur. Oer the hair, lies another pin in the shape of a crescent.

Ceremony marking the first menstruation of a girl. Dress worn for this ceremony is cindhe, lonthong kamus bludiran (belt), udhet, slepe, necklace, bracelet, and rings. The hair is done into the form of a mountain. In the middle, a pin, lancur and a series of smaller hairpins are used. The ceremony is done in the Sekar Kedhaton hall besides kedaton Kulon (the west palace). This ceremony is done internally by women.
